India's great triumvirate: Bipin Chandra Pal

 Bipin Chandra Pal was born on 7 November 1858 in the village of Poil, Habiganj, Sylhet District, Bengal Presidency of British India, in a Hindu Bengali Kayastha family. 

He was an Indian nationalist, writer, brilliant orator, social reformer and Indian independence freedom fighter. He was one-third of the “Lal Bal Pal” triumvirate along with Lala Lajpat Rai and Bal Gangadhar Tilak. 

Pal was one of the main architects of the Swadeshi movement along with Sri Aurobindo. 

Pal is known as the Father of Revolutionary Thoughts in India. Sri Aurobindo Ghosh and Pal were recognised as the chief exponents of a new national movement revolving around the ideals of Purna Swaraj, Swadeshi, boycott and national education. He was also an ardent proponent of gender equality.

Sri Aurobindo referred to him as one of the mightiest prophets of nationalism.

He was an active member of Brahmo Samaj. He followed his own principles in his personal & political life. 

Some of the books he authored are ‘Indian Nationalism’, ‘Swaraj and the Present Situation, ‘Nationality and Empire’, ‘The Basis of Social Reform’, ‘The New Spirit and Studies in Hinduism’, and ‘The Soul of India.

He was also a journalist who used this platform to spread his message of patriotism and nationalism. He edited the journals 'The Democrat’ and ‘The Independent’. He also started many newspapers and magazines such as ‘Paridarsak’, ‘Bande Mataram’, ‘New India’ and ‘Swaraj’.
